Ive been using "Twin Air ":niceone: had no problems with them, have 4 so it just a matter of swap out clean and bag always got one ready go if needed earlier. used to buy from the guys next door to me, till they moved the business to Kumeu. :weep:

I have 3 twin air as well, great filters... the idea was to have a couple of clean ones ready to swap out at any time, yet the night before I go for a ride I always seem to have 3 dirty filters... :confused:

You clean them after every ride. Some have more than one to make it easy.

Guess thats down to how much you like engine rebuilds. I dont so clean mine every ride. Very cheap insurance.

By the time they look dirty they're overdue.
Having said that I don't clean mine after every ride, it depends on the ride. This time of year there's not much dust about so I'd only change it every second or third ride, unless I'd been messing around in sand.

It always intrigues me as to why people change their filter every ride. Don't they trust their filter to do its job?
Sure if its dirty after a dusty ride I will change as soon as possible and clean out the air box but at this time of year i can generally get about 10 hours before cleaning and even then the main reason is a performance one over engine wear and i have no pre filter or air box lid. In fact i change my gear box oil more often than the filter at this time of year.
I know people that get obsessed with their air filter but never grease their linkage etc etc. Actually they think i am strange because i won't use(it goes in the car) pre mix thats older than a week but thats another subject.

I clean it every ride. Its cheap and easy to do. Ive also greased my linkages on this bike a couple of times since ive had it as well.
Not sure my hornet would run well on 2 stroke.

Well you did ask.:lol::lol:
There are a few linkages on bikes, especially older ones. Throttle linkages, brake linkages ect......
Best to keep any moving parts lubricated, cos we all know what friction feels like.:pinch:

Been using Twin Air for 5 years for my sons KTM's. Never had a filter become un-usable. We also spray them each time before use. When racing MX we might change filter after each race depending on what the track is like. Reason to have 1/2 a doz filters with us as cleaning them while at the track just don't work.

yea, twin air as well. they seem to do the job. run three filters but i dont necessarily change after every ride, obviously depends on conditions.

Doesn't apply to you so much as you ride one of those weird bikes where you put oil in the petrol, but one of the major contributors to a knackered 4 stroke is not cleaning your air filter regularly. A fresh filter every ride is very little effort for a lot of peace of mind.
And yes, I also grease my linkages regularly :)

I use a twin air and no toil wash and oil. Cleaned every ride. On average I suppose twice a month. Lasted 2 yrs and it was the glue that failed not the foam. I'll only buy twin air.
