Shift light?

Has anyone ever fitted a shift light to a single cylinder dirt bike/motard?

Anyone know where I might find one that can be fitted to a bike that doesnt really have an electrical system i.e a battery.

Wanting to fit one to my motard to see if I can make my engine last longer this time round by staying off the limiter.

Chuck a vortex dash on it. Has a shift light, and all the shit you'd need to make a shift light work anyway, since your bike is without rev counter.

You might need a battery, but it could be tiny and only really there as a capacitor to smooth the voltage out.
