Hi all
I live in an apartment in Britomart sans a car park and I've been surviving fine on Public Transport for a while now, but I'm getting the itch again for a bike (sold my last one to go on a short notice holiday!). The problem I'm facing is obviously parking - I've just spoken to someone at Auckland Transport and it sounds like leaving it in the Downtown Carpark is a no-no as the wardens will eventually catch on to any bike that is just left there all the time (and I would feel selfish taking up a spot almost 24/7!).
I'd really rather not stump up $50+ a week for a car sized park - does anyone have any experience or ideas in such a situation?
Many thanks

Wilson (who finally answered their phone) offer one on Anzac ave for 80+gst. Prefer not to have to walk 15 minutes every time I wanted to go anywhere... not for $20 a week anyway.
Am I looking for something that doesn't exist?

Park it in the Sky City park and ride it around the barriers when you leave.

Are they less judicious in removing vehicles/bikes? I'm after a 'no stress' aka never want to worry about if my bike will still be there setup :D It's a bit far, but if it's free...

i doubt it'd last longer than a few weeks considering what they charge for parking
last apartment i lived in had quite a few oddball spaces around the carpark, perhaps you could find something suitable and talk to the body corp about paying some kind of nominal fee to keep it all above board?

Alas, my building was built before cars existed in NZ! There is a basement but it's down some stairs....
I've got a guy from Wilson supposedly investigating options and a promising lead in the Chancery carpark - will hear from both tomorrow allegedly. I'll keep updating this for anyone else that may be looking for the same thing in future...
