I have a set of Bridgestone battle axe 023s on my cb400 . They are down to about 2/3s wear and a bit slidey . And feel like my shinkos did on my 250 . Slidey on top, grip on the side .Is this the norm for dual tyre ?

Your suspension all good? So you're spinning the wheel accelerating and braking makes it skid? But you have no loss of grip in corners?

I have the same tyre in the wet on some surfaces they do move about a bit, on straits only, I found they improved with a bit lower tyre pressure, I assume they were running to cold?

Pies would make you heavier, but red bull gives you wings. So they should cancel each other out right?

I had a CB400 and ran Battleaxe BT56 Fs on it

My records show I got 18500km out of the front one and 21800km out of the rear one. They did wear in the middle eventually but not slidey bad. You know ho many ks on the tyres?

Are they the tyres that came on the bike? Have you checked there age? On the side of them is a 4 number date code which shows the date they came out of the mold.

My Hornet came with Pilots that looked ok but were nasty to ride. I checked the date code to see they were both 07 tyres.:eek5: Changed out and now all is good.

I can recommend the Michelin Pilot Road 3 if you're looking for a change.

Never had a problem with the BattleAxe either though.

I wouldn't worry about the tires and spend the money on the suspension should cost maybe $1000 if done right ,at 100kg thats 20kg over what your spring rate could even handle and the poor old shim stack would be having a heartattack.
You need to get your local suspension company to re-valve and re-spring front and rear urgently and will be night and day difference .
The first amount off money spent on a bike should not be a exhaust but in suspension tuning for comfort and peace off mine .
At 38psi thats what harleys have or goldwings (maybe).
Instead off asking people who don't know ask the trusted tech guy you have your bike serviced.
Even at 100kg front maybe 35 and the rear 33 cold.

The load limit for the bike is 140kg so it shouldn't be the suspension. And has only started do it in the last few weeks

What has the load limit to do with suspension tuning ?????????? Most modern bikes are sprung for 73kg-85kg or 175-185lbs riders after that usually a good revalve and or springs depending on rider and type off riding benefits the rider and tire wear .................

Well i was getting less than 12000k on the rear of the bandit so your doing well. I would see if you can get Pilot road 2s or 3s in those sizes. I think you can. Gremlins getting 23000k on his Hornet out of PR2s. 3 give better wet grip. I love mine. See what Drury tyres can do.

Amen to that. P3s are great in the wet.

Well pretty much the nearer you get to it, the more important it becomes! If you have a guy with a worn tyre though, as we have here, replacing the rubber is way more important than the bouncy springy things.

My CB400 was rated at 149kg worth of rider and pillion so me at 90kg didn't really demand suspension work ... although it would have improved things. I do agree though, to improve performance, deal with the suspension before the go faster noisy bits.

Ah, it becomes clear. Poor thing is dying of boredom. Get some new un's.

12'000k? Wish I could get over half that on a rear. 021, 023 rears are toast in less than 6k for me but i love em.
