Man fractures leg after riding motorbike into tree
9:45 AM Friday Jul 26, 2013

A man in his 20s was flown to hospital after he rode his motorbike into a tree in Whangamata.

A Westpac rescue helicopter responded to the call at 10.15am yesterday, spokeswoman Alice Wilkinson said.

The man was flown to Waikato Hospital with a suspected fracture in his lower left leg.

He was wearing a helmet when he crashed, she said.

The obvious question is ''Why didn't the tree move when it saw the bike heading towards it''?

Wrong :(:(,, He rode into a tree he didn't see. Therefore the tree is at fault ( according the ACC ), because it did not have Hi Viz bark and thus was not visible to anyone who was or was not looking. Make sense??

How many trees a year are run into because of being clad in dark bark?

I see a cause to be fought for here:clap: Fluro For Fauna.

Them trees seem to attract those who consider themselves to be a DangerousBastard.

When asked if the tree was damaged, the arborist said she'll be pine.

His dad said that his son had no axe to grind.
