Great price. You will be stealing the bike. Plus, it will only go up in value.

don't do it. I want it! Had a DT 400 with Stan Stephens tune which was possessed by hooligan demons & a DT 175 enduro with DT 125 R disc front end & aftermarket swing arm & shock. Best trail bike ever.
That bike really would look lovely sat between the Lanza & TDM. But. I want a trials bike, too.

I owned a DT250D from new.
It was an underpowered, under-suspended, over-steering, heavy piece of shit.
Apart from that, I have fond memories..:brick:

I had an IT400E (I think, the first model) - it was all that except underpowered

Not sure what year but I was told it was the E model. Steel cantilever swingarm and the shock (about two feet long) was under the tank.
After it seized on one of the Pukemanu runs I put in a YZ piston (all I could get) and when it got a few revs on the power was pretty good - way in excess of what the brakes were good for.

In fact I know of a 1981/82 Montesa H6 125 Enduro in pretty much perfect condiction from the cell phone pics I have seen..
apparantly the guy would take about 2 grand for it.. he owned it from new... and well into his 60s now..
I should really get the number off the guy at work & give him a call...

I had the IT465
Drum brakes . Went well but tended to ride into things often due to lack of stop. Also hard to predict powerband which seemed to decide what revs to start at random.

Then there was an *issue* with it. Sounds like an air leak. The 465's (both YZ & IT) were pretty well sorted beasts. I've had a few in my time.

Breaks are what I need between races! Cool pic mate! Can't wait for my ankle to get a lil better and join in the fun. My 400T is getting closer to being finished...

its bloody sacriledge i know, but a mate of mine had one of those (montessa 125) in the early eighties
he took the motor out and put it in a go cart...then put a TL125 engine in the montessa...:weep:
made for a great trailbike though i guess

I had a 1979 black DT175 back in 1982. Used that to play while the RM80 was used for racing. All when I was 12 years old. Boy was I spolit.
Then late 80's I had a DT400 '78 model (same yellow as that 250) . Used to be able to pull the best monos on it. It handled okay on the road but was great off-road providing you told it who was boss. Sometimes we argued and it spat me off !! I'd buy another :)

At the risk of repeating myself, danger Will Robinson! - I had one of those from new.
I simply do not have the time and energy to recount the magnitude of its awfulness.
It is the exact opposite of the same model 175 which was a lovely scoot.

Heck Oscar in an increasingly homogenised modern world those are selling points (a challenge even) to some.
Look at those lines again, the yellow on black will always be classy.A Smoking, finned, rugged and very affordable everyman classic...Brraaaaap.

Theres even a VMX class for it now...if your brave enough:nya:

I raced it once, that's enough.
