File under worthy but misguided. Pink licence plates have been made available in Maine, USA, in an attempt to promote cancer awareness. But takeup from bikers has been slow.
The Maine Cancer Foundation said 70 bikers have committed to running pink plates… but with a minimum 500 orders required before the plates go into production, the scheme is looking likely to founder.
A deadline of the end of the year has been established in an attempt to give the scheme time to pick up in popularity.
