anyone else out there got one of these? I have the Naza. I haven't tried the arai or shoei so can't give a comparison to them.
Best helmet I've worn. The aerodynamics are freaking awesome. Following trucks and other vehicles that normally have my head doing an annoying left to right wobble are reduced considerably. I'm riding a DR motard atm so I've only tested it to about 170 but it sits neutral with just a touch of downward pressure from the top vent. All the helmets I've had to date felt like they were lifting up at that speed (or higher). With clear air in front it doesn't feel like I'm leaning my head into the wind too much, when the rest of me feels like a sail
Noise wise it seems pretty good to me. I normally wear ear plugs or head phones but I've actually not bothered on a few rides so far (I recommend ear protection regardless tho). I suspect the chin vent control been on the inside of the helmet contributes to the lower turbulence and the noise that goes with it.
I've weighed mine and it was 1420gms but that's a large. I notice most of the manufacturers state weight as applies to their med or small versions alot.
It has some pretty fancy safety features as well. 2 types of foam with different densities bonded to the shell (not glued) help reduce impact velocities.
Carbon and fibre glass manufacture in the shell called something flash that I can't remember atm.
comes in a shit hot helmet bag (with zips and vents) with your traditional cloth carry bag as well. Extra chin cushions or whatever they are called are provided, which is a plus if your a pinched weasel face bastard or you want to squeeze your face in for racing :)
To be honest I thought it was close to a 1000 $ helmet when I first saw it but it was going for 500. which is what I paid for my last hjc and this helmet is so much better.
I'm not to sure who is stocking them in nz at the moment. I got mine off someone who knows the distributor. I would be interested what old Shaun Harris had to say about them as he was going to be the sole distributor in nz back in 2011 (found a post here saying that) and I'm guessing he used them before he endorsed them.
check out Kaliprotectives.com (I think that's the addy) for more info.
if anyone is interested I'll post some pictures up later on.
