Well, after two months of dramas with the Yamaha, I've given up and gone for a newer (better) bike. I present to you...
Tigadee's Tyranical Two-tyred Terminator-cycle!

Thank you Gary from Tauranga for parting with this beauty... It shall be here next week.

Very nice one of them indeed, low K's as well.
Looks like it's been well cared for by it's previous owner who seems to have taken a bit of pride in his ride. Love the art work :niceone:

Thanks guys! Really looking forward to it, especially since my current ride is still misbehavin'...

Mossy - It will be coming with a pack rack - the owner hadn't put it on yet when he took the photos of the Hornet. :woohoo:

Spokes - More than enough...

At least I beat Spokes in updating the avatar to actual bike...

I know what you mean, I had transferred the cash for my bike a few days before picking it up, but it didn't feel as though it was mine until I first sat on it.

Well, got the bike yesterday (earlier than the scheduled drop-off time too!) and very excited!

Rides well and has some bits and bobs not listed in the TM ad that really make this even more bike for my money:
1. Conti Road Attck 2 tyres
2. Centre stand
3. Ventura brackets and pack rack
4. Ventura VH1 handlebar (slightly wider than standards)
5. Givi screen
6. Crash bungs
7. Carbon pattern tank cap stickers
8. Honda alarm system
9. Corbin-style seat (very comfy!)
10. Newish chain and sprockets
11. Staintune stainless steel exhausts
12. Newish battery
13. LED indicators
14. Ventura headlight cover/protector

Will need oil and filter change soon, so will get that done before the weekend, for obvious reasons! :devil2:

I can only think of one person I know of, who has standard bars on their Hornet. They are beyond fucken uncomfortable, and I don't doubt the horible body position turned a lot of people off buying the bikes new.

Wow, that bad, huh? Until now, I've never ridden one (except a 250 Hornet which was incredibly cramped)...

That is the only way I can fathom anyone came up with it.

I know GiJoe still has the stock bars, but I think everyone else has aftermarket. Wide bars made the bike seem like a very big motard... (btw spokes, the black ones wheelie better :innocent:) Renthal MX bars fitted here...

Tig, the Honda alarm system is HISS, and standard equipment.

Congrats on a very reliable bike, mine's got 115k (almost all city mileage, very hard stuff on the clutch and gears), Toto has 150k, and Warr has one around 230k? No idea how long these last, as I don't know one that's failed...

It would seem so. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghtQWLmVbSI

On the way home from collecting the bike my wrists were killing me. The next day fitting some Zeta mx bars have solved most of that but im keen to try some Renthal Ultra lows as they seem to be the bars of choice for them.

Have you taken it over 5000rpm yet Tigs?

Grats Tigadee, IMO the hornet 900 is the best bang-for-your-buck bike out there.

Getting to love it... I'm sure it'll last me a few good years, I'm planning on it!

Yupe... 7k rpm at 160kph today... [Nothing to guys like you but first time breaking the sound barrier for me! :baby:]

Amazing how much more stable it is - glides into corners, no hesitation...
