Has anybody on here changed their existing mechanical tachometer/speedometer to an electronic version? If so was it a pain in the butt to do? Only ask as the tacho on my GS1000I am rebuilding/personalizing/buggering up feel to pieces and there's no way to save it.

Have tracked down a number of replacement units (ebay) but all in the states and want silly money, whereas the after market electronic versions look right sexy so I want one, but have no idea how to convert, so any help would be great.

Now that depends on how difficult it would be to replace with an electronic one. When I was at my last job in the UK I had access to a machine shop so could make bits as and when required, not so anymore
