Sand it off. If the paint is in good condition and you are just changing colour you only need to sand the existing paint to a point where you have a good clean base for the new primer etc to adhere to.

If you just want to go back to bare plastic try some chemical strippers. That would save having scuffed plastics from sanding. Paint thinners or methylated spirits or something.

Chemical strippers on plastics can eat the plastic. Best try a test piece first if you go down that path.

theres no real reason to remove all the paint,
almost all paint strippers will damage the abs plastic

Yea I guessed as much, I read a forum post from some years ago and wondered if it had been invented yet, reckon if I came up with it I would be worth a bit more than I am now.........will certainly sand back.

When we did the side panels for the GPz my Dad and I sandblasted it, and I went over the top of that with some 600 grit to smooth it out. This was after I had spent 5 hours and had only broken through 2 of the 8 layers of paint. After that, we managed to get both of them done and ready for primer the next afternoon

It takes a bit of time but brake fluid gets paint off plastic and rubber etc without affecting it.

Isopropyl alcohol can be good for removing paint without damaging plastic, used it to remove a really bad paint job from the fairings on my sons bike.
