Hi there fairly new to Kiwi Biker have recently bought A VX 800 1991 Suzuki with 70 thousand on the clock no service history so have had a full service, carbs balanced, valve clearance chaecked, all fluids changed, new plugs, tappets reset. Originally a Japanese import with 33 thousand on the clock slightly shorter wheel base than American/european models. Nice touque curve, any one else out there I can talk to with same bike? She was a bit rough with some rust on pipes, but has come up well with a good clean, Tank has recently been painted as had fallen over in earthquake bike will be garaged full time and ridden on sunny days, just getting used to her as 13years off a bike and now back on, hoping to keep her going for a few years have read blogs overseas with some owners getting 100000 miles from them so seems a fairly reliable thumper.

They were an underrated bike and better than some gave them credit for. Main criticism was too soft budget suspension but not hard to fix. All the best with it! :niceone:

Just got my hands on a 97 400cc model. Interesting bike for one used to sports bikes.
