I guess the McGuinea happy meal wasn't a big hit?

no, they didnt and it cost them dearly in the end
at least in NZ they had the lamb burger and kiwi burger

I guess being poor has its advantages
When cheap fast food is out of reach
Compared to healthy home cooked meals....

When wealth mostly buys you crap, your better of poor....

The Bolivians are now mass producing a cheap cola made from coca leaves. Superior to our sugar/caffeine Cocacola product

Now 'thats' the real thing

I'm thinking of emigrating
Uruguay has legalised weed too

Neither group is forced to do business with them. Short of a donation box handy to the POS, I've never found an expectation to contribute as a customer. Can't remember the last shop I went into that didn't have a donation box of some kind handy to the till.

It could very well be a PR exercise, but still I don't see too many other major businesses doing anything as large. Knowing a number of parents that live in provincial towns that have seriously sick kids, I'm yet to meet one that isn't impressed/grateful for what they do.

Oh yes that place has become invaluable to my partner, after many hours surgery spent on her son!

And as far as the McDs in Bolivia, if you read the comments under the article you will notice that MD pulled out due to financial reasons (or so it seems), they could not compete with the local fast food!

Imagine if you will, if the bottom rung got much lower, say $50 income a week.....
No more ciggies, fast food, coffees or beers.
After living in a tent in a paddock on the east coast fishing and away from an expensive city, said impoverished lower decile is now fitter and healthier by 20times.
Mind is now sharp, and pundit returns to the arena of capitalist endeavour a much fitter unit for survival.
The higher income he presently receives keeps him in a state of homeostasis, and prevents a natural bottoming out and cleansing and purging.... a re accessment that normally occurs in a downward spiral. Held in this state of suspension of the ground by the state, and tax payer, the good intention is hollow and erroneous in result.

In many cases poverty limits an individuals access to self harming choices.....

Funny lot we are
