He was on the news tonight. Sad, as he's still the best when he puts his head down, but you have to understand and I wish him well.

He gave me plenty of entertainment over the years so a big thank you to the man and I'm glad he's retiring in one piece.

Always sad to see our best retire It has been said Rossi is over the hill at 34 ! and whats Andrew 41 ?? Good luck to him.
Certainly going to be easier for others to get a title now.

I think its great to see him retire on his own terms and in one piece. Better than some potential alternatives.
I wish him all the best.

The Strouds are simply AWESOME!
Andrew is the perfect ambassador for our sport.
I wish more of us were like him. We'd be better represented in the media if we were.
Thanks for giving us those nail biting races, and for putting our sport/country on the map.
Best of luck for the future mate.
Scrivy.
P.S. I reckon he had to thrown it in, as if he won another title, he wouldn't be able to buy a vehicle big enough for the extra family..........

He'll be back...
After a few months sitting on the couch, muttering "10 kids, 9 titles" the inequality of it will get to him, and a couple of quick phone calls later...:scooter:

Good call by Mr Stroud. His skill level and experience, but most of all his consistancy made him very hard to be beaten by any New Zealanders. His achievements over his career make him in my books the best racer we have ever produced. Now I will brace myself to be challenged by the Anderson, Anstey, Newcombe, or whatever people.
Cheers Andrew for all the great races and all the best for the future.
Bring on Mr Gixerracer...

And still able to beat anyone when he's determined to! Ordinarily he's just top 2... :msn-wink:
