Giving up on you guys? awww that's cute. Selling this AND my dirt bike, is a financial decision. The hope is to sell both of them and upgrade to a later model bike with more grunt and keep it longer term. I am having to move house and can't afford the maintenance on TWO bikes and a car and all the other extra costs of dirt biking i.e. extra petrol (for my car, it uses heaps towing a trailer), park fees and shit. I am trying to be more.. sensible I guess. Chucked them on trademe last night with crap pics though as I figure they will take awhile to sell so better to get them on sooner than later and update pics later.

$1500 as a trade in and it still not working properly, runs pretty f*cked to be honest.

Sometimes it's best cut your losses and trade when you find a bike that you really want, I did that with the CB because I couldn't wait. Selling the Yamaha on TM took an age, and I ended up accepting way less that what I originally wanted, probably would have done a wee bit better as a trade in thinking back on it.

And that's exactly what I decided to do, cut my losses. Sick of spending time and money on that POS. Now it's someone else's problem, I'd had enough and there's no enjoyment to be had in a broked bike.

Haha well that was scary. The brakes are so effective on this bike and I'm not used to them, I went to slow down (at very slow speed) on the wet road no less, and hit the rear brake too hard (hah!) and did a bit of a tail spin, wooh.... I feel like a retard on this bike I can't go around corners and I'm never entirely sure what gear I'm in and if it's the right one (trying to use my ears but the bike is so damn loud it can be hard to tell). I'm being very careful with the throttle cause it's been raining or wet since I picked it up and I'm too scared if I give it heaps of gas (which I could get away with with the gn) that I'll end up doing something unintentional and ouchy... This should be an interesting experience!!

So in other words you're having fun? Wait til you get your cornering confidence up. Motards are do much fun to thrash in the twisties

Well it didn't give me the shits I was just like ahhh... what to do? oh nothing cause it was fine LOL. Also kind of embarrassing cause I'd just hooned it past a bus stop full of people so they all would have seen
Definitely can't wait till I can build up cornering confidence, it's a terrible feeling not knowing its limits but I suppose taupo trackday tomorrow will help with that...

Just take it easy and let yourself get used to it (I was only just starting to used to the Scorpio I've been riding for the past 4 days when I gave it back yesterday).

The more you ride it the better you'll get at riding it, take it for a few gentle spins (not literally of course!), weather's looking good today. Oh yeah, did I mention take it easy?

Just remember that the bike is lighter in the rear, more front less rear brake and dont grab at the front lever as one finger would almost do... looks like a dry run down tonight and the nasty front that was forecast has slowed up a little so Saturday should be OK....Might be wet Sunday for the trip home unless the forecast is wrong....again, ATM I am liking the forecast compared to what it was as I will be just over the hill in Taumarunui this weekend if all goes to plan weather wise.... might even take the XR and DRZ for a play after the culling work is done :D

Kids are off school tomorrow so its tempting to go early as well, Rose will join me :)

If you have issues with the bike at the track (I am sure you will be fine) I will have the bike trailer with me if I take the other bikes :)

Yup I've been "two-fingering" the front brakes. Don't need to use all four fingers and squeeze hard as like I did with the gn, so I'm still very much getting used to the brakes, hard to know yet since I haven't really ridden it how much is too much... I'm riding back tomorrow night after the track day so hopefully the weather is fine.

yup should be fine then....you might see us heading the other way loaded up, well probably not as I will be going through SH4 etc by the time you leave...I hope, I'm not back until Sunday....If all goes to plan.

You might have to join us down at the beach for some skid practice in the sand on my bikes (keep your one out of it) might even get you to pop a wheel stand :P

Rear brake lever in pic 6 looks well adjusted ( unlike it's owner ) :finger: ...

but I held back a bit.
