After agonizing over this decision, I've decided to sell my Bandit :(
I need money to fund studies next year, and I have a 250 sitting in the garage that I can use for transport. I've put a bit of time and money into this bike getting it set up just right, so I'm quite sad to have to let it go. I'm in Hamilton.
$3500 is about what I think the bike's worth. But the market dictates what it'll go for.
Realistically I think I'll probably get around $3000.
I'm open to reasonable offers and possibly swaps with cash my way (try your luck, you never know!).
It's on trademe here: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=627973750&ed=true
The good things!
Had a $500 service fairly recently to make sure everything was in order (have receipts). Valve clearances done, electrics checked, etc.
Recent oil change
Brand new factory-pro nickel plated emulsion tubes (the stock ones wear out quite quickly on these bikes).
Stage one carb jet upgrades (102.5 -> 127.5 mains and 37.5 -> 35 pilots)
Modified airbox
'08 GSXR1000 Rear shock (stock one is rubbish).
Modified instrument cluster position (lowered it down onto the headlamp to tidy up the front now that the stock handlebars are gone).
Replaced stock handlebars with clip-ons
Replaced stock indicators with small clear LED ones (stock ones are huge!)
Jisu exhaust with free flowing link pipe
I also used matte black plasti-dip to cover up the tacky chrome parts and restore the faded black plastic bits.
Awesome bike that handles well due to the shock upgrade and with enough power to keep a grin on your face.
It currently has the factory jets back in as I had it set up for maximum top end with the aftermarket jets which was a bit outrageous for around town riding. I'd recommend having the carbs re-tuned (or doing it yourself if you have the know-how and patience) to get the air/fuel balance right with the aftermarket exhaust as it's a bit rough down low at the moment.
I have all of the original parts (indicators, exhaust, jets, emulsion tubes, rear shock, center-stand) and these will come with the bike. The aftermarket jets also come with the bike in case you want more power.
The bad!
There is a slight ding on the left hand side of the fuel tank.
There is a chipped piece of plastic on the instrument cluster.
There are the usual fairing fixtures broken and scrapes expected on a bike this age.
This bike is a jap import so has the restricted CDI unit in it that was on some of the JDM models. It's easy enough to swap it out for an unrestricted one (two plugs on a black box). This was next on my list of things to do.
She needs a good tune now that I've put her back on the factory jets. I'll try and find time to do this myself over the next week or two, but getting her on a dyno, or someone who's a better mechanic than me would be a good idea.

Test rides and inspections are fine, but I'll be hanging onto your license and a reasonable deposit (a few bikes have been nicked around Hamilton during 'test rides' recently!)
