Was just wondering if there might be any KBers living in Thames who would be able to look after my bike this weekend. Just need a safe place to park it from Friday night until Sunday morning.

Thanks! :ride:

What, you're going to coromandel and parking the bike?

Weirdo :D

Yeah, I know, don't rub it in. This weekend I'm going to do the Coro Loop using my own engine - mountainbiking, running, kayaking and road-cycling. It's a bit tiring really...

We have a holiday house in Coromandel and will be there this weekend, but I suppose your event starts and finishes in Thames? If Coromandel is a suitable place, we'd be happy to look after it for you.

Thanks Geoff, but yeah, the race starts and finishes in Thames. Saturday night is in Tairua and we have rented a house there but because I will be running across the divide there is no-one to ride my bike back from Tairua to Thames on the Sunday so we thought it would be easier to leave it in Thames if we could.

A huge thank you to ZThou (Ray) who looked after my bike in Thames this weekend. Dropped in on him about 6.30pm Friday and dragged him off to the pub for a meal while awaiting my team mate. Left the bike safely locked in Rays gargre for the weekend and disappeared off to do the Coromandel loop the alternate way.

Started with a 22km Mountain bike up the Kauarenga Valley which I did, handed over to my team mate (Mr Keystone) who then ran 26km over the Pinnacles to exit at Coroglen. I then hopped in my kayak and paddled 17km down past Whitianga and around to Cooks Beach. This was pretty interesting given the 2 metre swell! Mr K then finished the day with a 25km cycle over over the hill to Tairua. This morning started with a 15km kayak that Mr K did and then I cycled 28km to Whangamata and then put on my running shoes and ran 22km over the ranges to Maratoto. Mr K finished the day with a 32km cycle back to Thames.

Picked up the VTR from ZThou and headed on home. Got on the bike OK, but struggled to get off again to refuel in Bombay! Legs are just a tad stiff after the weekends efforts!

Came out of Autobahn Bombay to find a VTR 250 parked next to our group. I thought instantly of you. Was it you?

Yep, that was me! Decided that after struggling to get off the bike at the BP, perhaps a few minutes to refuel the body as well as the bike was warranted!

We did the same after doing an extra big Coromandel Loop. You shoulda come over and tapped me on the shoulder to wake me up (cause I didn't see ya there) :slap:

I wandered in to see if I knew any of the riders but didn't see you! You may have had your back to the door and I didn't look too closely! Will look harder next time!

I saw a few bikes go past doing the loop while i was doing the road cycle - it was a nice distraction from the pain! Beautiful day for it though!

It was a great day. Roads were in good order. Have just a tiny chicken strip left on the rear tyre and I still am still grinning. :ride:
