True Story: Here I was at work today. One lady comes up to another and says "You're looking perky today"....Apparently in girl-talk that means "vibrant" or something. Now if I went up to same lady (nice lady in her 50's but def not Charlize Theron) and said "you're looking perky today",..I would have prob got a smack in the head or personal grievance. :facepalm:
Why does it mean different things from different sexes?
Have I missed something??
Or do I have it that perky means good fripples and nice noobs??

The only safe way is to not say anything unless you know the person well enough. If you're an old fart like me you can get away with some stuff. I was in my Chemist a while ago during a promotion they had on and the staff were wearing bright pink t-shirts. One of the pharmacists is a very cute little Indian and I told her the staff looked great with the colour, but especially her because of her skin tone, she looked quite stunning really.

She took it shyly in good humour, she was quite pleased to receive the compliment. I guess there's something about my demeanor that they don't see me as any kind of a threat.
