K What?

What does the K designation (K4, K5 etc) on the Suzuki GSXR's mean please?

the year.. k=2000, so k5 is 2005, k4 is 2004 and so on.. but 'k' really means 1000, so really it should be kk4 or kk5.. when they get to the year 3000, it'll be kkk and they plan on a totally white bike with a pointy screen..

and it's only zookie who do this.. and lazy at that (cos it's only one 'k'). Don't think the 'k' actually stands for anything else tho. I think it dirrived from the term -2k5 and they just dropped the '2'

nothing.. if anything, 'R' might likely be 'Race', and then the '1' is obviously a 1000cc and 6 being 600cc.. 636 is the engine size (636cc)
