There are a couple down lower half of North island, but may have trouble getting them from owners even though they no longer use them. Could pm peril 787b think he has front and rear from his old one, he's in Hamilton.

Did anyone grab that one form Henderson?

Gazza was making noises about selling his a while ago. Not sure if he still is.

Gazzza

Sorry guys, change of mind, we seem to finally be getting some numbers at the track, good time to buy not sell.

The one in Henderson is still there, hard to pin the owner down though [ trying to get it myself, the rate i keep killing the other one i need a spare] Gazzza is keeping his now. He's on a mission to beat Rick and Henk:corn:

If anyone starts looking like beating us on a regular basis we'll join the arms race and build another one and repo Pumbas engine to power it, at that stage our rig may come up for sale once we have the replacement sorted out.
In the meantime if you want a rig in a hurry I'd probably follow Brian and Mel's lead and weld half a wheelbarrow to a bike you don't care that much about. Bucket sidecars have been a sellers market for bloody ages now, the only one that didn't sell fast was ours when we bought it, and as soon as it looked like we'd have three at the track on a regular basis the interest spiked.

Actually if anyone wants to build one like Brian's i have a rolling bucket bike TF1OO frame with rg50 front and honda vt250 rear, was running tf125 engine. The reason your sidecar didn't sell quick was it was being ridden by two old fat guys who couldn't get it up to speed. Not like the beanpoles who ride it now:doh:

I work with Dave and have already told him he can't have it. Never was a complete chair and I still have no idea what I did with the plans I drew up.
If he got it, I'd be the one having to finish it...

When I get home tonight I will dig through the leads I had from the Manawatu boys on chairs down that way. Be warned though, I thought the wanted stupid money for them.

Anyone got any idea about the one that was advertised in Hamilton on Trade Me a year or two back that no one bought?

F5 Dave

Alvin Falkner in Bulls (try number on white pages.co.nz that came up) is probably a good one to get hold of. Pete Sales at Total MC in palmy might have a clue as well.

Pumba

Alvin Falkner in Bulls

That was who I was dealing with. At that stage he knew of the wereabouts of 4 chairs (including his own). Mine was one of those 4 and by far the cheapest. Lusty's was another, and when asked if he wanted to sell it was a very quick NO. Alvins own chair would prob cost you north of $1500 (prob closer to $2K, but who knows if you were waving real cash in front of thier face) plus what ever engine you wanted to run, and it may be in two pieces for easy storage (cannot quite recall, one of them was). Cant remeber whose the forth was off the top of my head, dont think it was followed up on when I enquired.

Once again I will dig out the contacts tonight.

Shane's would have been the other one I guess. Lusty's is probably in his house strung from the ceiling with his model airplanes. Expect to see him on one of 'those' programs in 10 years time being hauled out of there looking like Peter Green 30 years on (Fleetwood Mac original singer).

No, it won't be "they may kill me", it is "you will be killed".....

That's what i had in mind :niceone:It's less simple, than that unfortunately.

The Windle has very specific geometry...at least it did untill the speedway fuckwit took to it, now I wouldn't bet either way...The bucket needs to be smaller, but the rider and swinger stay the same. So shit get's wack real quick.

The LCR long bike-a-like is the way to go for you Dave. You're a big unit, as illustrated by not fitting in the full size short bike all that well, and a rear engined outfit will accommodate much better.

I'm seriously of the opinion, that the motor should be that of a 125 fuel injected, two stroke scooter. Self contained and compact for rear motor application already.

There is one of those in the process of being built at the moment. I too dont think it is a bad way of going about it.

a 125 fuel injected, two stroke scooter.

Has to be aircooled...

No idea if they are or not.

Could always drop to a hundie.

Probably the only place in bucket's I'd prefer a camgrenade over a real engine.

Thing went pretty well.

Why don't you ask Arron if he'll sell that XL125 powered bucket chair that's sitting in his yard, for Dave?

Just wondering with all the interest in the chairs at the moment is there any chance of getting a handle on just what is being made at the moment. I have seen Cullys front end floating around the last few months, any idea how far the rest of it is? Any idea what might power it?
I caught up with Richie when he popped in on race day, he was saying his pit bike/rig will be a runner in two months time. I know of one more that has just begun, its using a RV90 rolling frame, engine unknown, but should be ready in two to three months.
Any one else got something cooking??

Only other one I can think of is John Steer's scooter chair. But god only knows when that might be ready.

As Henk mentioned John and myself have been working on a Fuel injected, foul stroke with cvt, it has been delayed at the frame straighteners but could well be ready for next month.

How about a photo, we have a 150 cvt scooter that could be made into a chair.

Gazzza

Well that's really interesting news on the chair front, and the thing is we are getting a few builds that are completely different, it will be intriguing to see how they measure up against each other. Look forward to seeing the grid fill up.

When will you learn Rob, just one project at a time. Look you just motivate Cully to finish that piece of art that he is working on at the moment. Once that is done we will let you start thinking about a second ESE chair in whatever format you want.

Rob start another project that thing of Cullys looks like being incrdebly flash, I'm just hoping it doesn't end up as fast as it will be pretty so if you can slow progress long enough for us to get a points lead I'd appreciate it. :)

foul stroke with fuel injection, cvt and liquid/cooling. (Tee Zee the injecter is 24mm)

It was a bit (very) bent, this is the before shot, I have since removed a lot of wires and tidied up as much as I could. Frame man has finished straightening the chassis.
It goes pretty well and will not need to be pushed, it does only have 11hp though,.:weep:

A few of us down here are talking of following Brian's lead and creating a few things like that one.
We likely won't be able to race them at our normal events though, due to time constraints.

Rear, cost $35 from trademe, seller SNW store in auckland. Included tyre tube bearings etc. Axle can just be a 10mm bolt.
Only real plan was that I could load in in the back of the van, and it fit within the rules.

Geeez if all you open class sidecar boys start getting into it, it will be like the old days where many were racing them before going onto the big ones, This weekend about 8 competitors from the big class are riding or swinging, Shit Drew & Dave you still have 2 days to chuck a 3rd wheel on something and be there racing.

There's a removable side car platform, in te same garage that houses my GL145.

It would be a hoot, but I'm on my way to Aukland for a wedding this weekend.
