Hi, I am a 38yo guy in Dunedin, and I have just got my first bike. Never done any riding before. Are there any other new (or laid back) riders who feel like going on some easy rides out of Dunedin. Or some suggestions of some good easy rides... I will be going slow...

Your going to need to fight off Honda riders if you advertise like that.

Go out to Taiaroa Heads to throw stones at the seals. Nice road alongside the harbour ruined by ridiculous speed limits, so you'll be fine keeping up. Just keep left if you get tailgated. Take the high road back from Portobello. Next time head out to Aramoana and stop at the Careys Bay Hotel for a bite on the way back.

Some good corners on both roads. Just take it easy on the left handers that you can't see around otherwise you'll end up on the wrong side of the road.

Hi and welcome
theres a few of us here in Dunedin willing to go at what ever pace required, the road to port charmers is a nice open one , id suggest that before you try the portabello road

as above, there are a few good roads that are lower-speed limits with lots of corners for practicing.
check out that southernrider facebook page and throw up a post if youre heading out for a ride. with daylight savings not far away, there will be more and more people keen to head out for a ride!

Yeah I'm keen for a run somewhere sometime. Must keep an eye on the SR FB page myself.
