Hey guys,

I'm looking for a replacement for the carburetor float gasket. I tried getting them from wemoto but alas what they sent me dosen't fit. Does anyone know a place in Auckland know where I can get a gasket custom made?

Thanks,

Sam

Yeah. The kitchen table and a chopping board.

Go buy some gasket paper from supercheap.

You forgot to mention the tracing pencil and the craft knife :innocent:

I was leaving the finer details for someone else to piss around typing.

Yep, I think I used the wrong terminology there.
I actually need an O-Ring made to fit between the carb and float bowl.

EDIT: I'll check out repco and supercheap auto as I see they have o-ring sets. ugh, I feel super tarded.

If you go the RTV Gasket maker route make sure you get one thats safe to use with gas.

Any old one off the shelf at supercheap simply wont do...

If it's not metal of some sort or paper, then it's a seal rather than a gasket I reckon.

The guys at repco pointed me to CSL automotive. I went there and the mechanic fashioned me a gasket in place of the o-ring (which because of its size and thickness was impossible to find). great dude and the gasket works great!

My bike was really loud after I reinstalled the carb though, turns out I forgot to latch down the air box!!

Shuk Engineering have done gaskets for me in the past - mainly head gaskets. much cheaper than OE.

Seal imports in Petone, have a supplier who makes seals for them. They could undoubtedly make simple rubber seals such as funny shaped O rings, no worries at all.

They made a clutch slave cylinder seal for me once, cost $17. I couldn't fucken believe it, the OE one was twice the price!
