Hi, hopefully I'm posting in the right place! First post here, so if there's anything I'm doing wrong, or breaking any forum ettique, please let me know!
I've recently purchased a 50cc scooter to travel to and from work on as my learner motorbike licence doesn't allow me to ride outside 10pm (finish work at 12:30am!) so for the next while. I'll be riding this. It struggles to sit at 55 km/h and in a headwind, struggles to hit 50 so I've been advised to sort out a derestriction. Unfortunately, I've tried talking to two of the stores in Christchurch and while both were happy to do it, one place said I'd need to find out what methods need to be done and the second place said they would do it, but won't tell me what they will actually be doing. So if anyone has any knowledge, what sort of process is involved in derestricting the scooter in question? I've done some research on google and have got multiple responses.
I've been reading that some people have recommended a new CDI? If this is a go, is it worth it, what sort of cost is involved and who in NZ would sell this? Alongside a new CDI I've read all the posts on various forums regarding a washer in the exhaust and in the gearing system? How correct is this for this particular model?
Lastly, if anyone could reccomend a good dealer in Christchurch, please don't hesitate to let me know!
