I think it may have belonged to a business and have been sold at auction. The guy says he had it going but the ground was connected to the live with no battery so it could have some electrical issues. I think its been outside for the last 6 months. The rust is all surface. Might clean the frame up and spray it but ill likely kill it before it rusts away.

Straight enough for an old girl. How are the suspension bushes?

Everything underneath looks good. The boots look like they were done not long ago. I must admit I haven't spent much time on it other than collection and fitting the airbox. I hope the carb wasn't left open without being covered.

I found a battery but its 125 plus 10 freight. $135 is over half the cost of the quad lol.
I should try charge the old battery but I never have much luck with old batteries. Maybe I should wire it up to my van and go for a drive with it running in parallel with the van battery tomorrow.

That's about the norm

They're fairly robust but used to find the suspension bushes & steering rack linkage would slog out fairly quickly.
ATV city is worthwhile for bits:yes:

yeah. Ill contact them about the brake parts once I get it running. I should connect a battery to it to get it going before I do much else.

Neg to pos seems a bit strange, stick the battery on a good high current charger you never know your luck. Failing that if you have some spare acid a fresh dose may bring it back to life

Not battery polarity reversed. They had the negative and positive lead connected to each other and battery disconnected. I just hope they couldn't get a lot of juice going from the pull starter with it like that.

Thats what I meant by strange, no battery connected I can understand, short the electrical system how is it ever going to run. Good thing is as you said unlikely to generate enough volts with the pull start to do any damage

Yeah we just had a thread about the same thing. If you put a small battery in it as long as 12 volts and used pull start or jump started it from car it would run fine once going but a direct short will never let it run.
