I've got a QT50 in the manliest Yamaha baby blue you've seen sitting in the shed. Been rebored to 1st oversize OEM piston size and probably a couple of other bits and pieces I can remember.
Was going to do it up for my little brother to learn on but life happened. It was rego'd but I just had to pay to cancel it a few months ago as I let it lapse. Piece of piss to re-rego those things though (was $160 for plate and years rego when I did it, probably gone up a bit now though).
I ride it around the lawn every now and again but it's probably only been run for about an hour.
I see on trademe you can buy the whole top ends for these now cheap which would have been handy a few years ago :brick:
Located in Picton, which may be a snag.

hoping for more than 'rather unlikely' lol.
I know the budget's tight, that's why its called a budget.
cheers for the QT50 info - im more after a 'bigger' 50, like a c50 or v50 etc etc.
although at the rate im going with the search for a c50 - I'll definitely keep it in mind!
cheers

Yeah thought I'd throw it up in case. Definitely at the small end size wise. I've always thought of it as a motorized piece of steel tube haha

sorry to say but in all reality I think yr dreaming rather than looking- up to 300 for something running with a reg,try 250 for dereg rough parts bike that may/maynot go and then you have reality...........that's the average price ive been paying and seeing them go for with plenty of bidders on t/me,then factor in 100-150 fuel to pik em up because quite often these deals are far from home

well, lucky dreaming pays off. bought a nice fr50, well within my budget.
its definitely doable if you wait and don't jump at the more expensive ones, prices are driven up by people paying more than what they're worth in the first place.
patience grasshopper.
