Who's goin, who's been?

Spent me $40 and went to Kerikeri for their 2nd performance of the tour. Not an avid fan by any stretch of the imagination but I was intrigued by how often at parties, work etc the answer to my question "who's that?" was FMP. Even more intrigued when I found out it's basically a co-op & most of the stuff on this tour, 18 songs, is new. Ballsy. Even more balls, the artists bring their own songs & spent a week as a band to get the performance down.

Any hoo, a good 2 hour set with a bar & wee break in the middle. A local act was up first, impressive too, for an 18 year old (educated guess, know a guy who was at school with her) so 8pm - 11:30pm all told. I thoroughly enjoyed it, more people dancing than sitting at the end of it, well, seemed that way.
Man!
There is some talent on stage, Ria Hall in particular was fantastic & a wee skinny dude with cool boots, Shaun Blackwell, was a great entertainer. Ditto for the rest of the band but it's such a hodge podge of music & artists that I was kind of bowled by it all. I reckon Anika Moa would be a hoot at the Karaoke on a Saturday night, great voice & humour. A dude by the name of Louie, possibly still at school, possibly not, would have my niece dissolving into her knickers.
If you got $40 & don't expect the earth, just real musicians getting into it, go.
