Road kill

It's taken a week because I damaged myself the day after I pulled the carbs off the bike and then couldn't put it back togeather again.
How so ?
Well I have the tips of my right index finger and middle finger missing due to an incident with a press many years ago.
Then on the Monday after pulling the carbs I had a chain on my truck stuck between the deck and a bent chain hook,so I stood back and chucked a loop at it.
Then much to my suprise the bloody thing came back at me at a great rate of knots but I managed to catch it just before it hit me in the chest,,,,an split my thumb wide open:shutup::facepalm::sick:fuck dat hurt.
So there's going to be no getting those carbs back in place until we're a bit more healthy.
No worries I can still take em' apart and clean 'em in the hope it will solve the missing an farting it's been getting up to,so I set about doing just that.
They were spotless,,,,,,,,,but then as I'm assembling the center carb I notice the vacum nipple is loose so I give it a tweek an the bloody thing comes away in my hand "aha".
Closer inspection indercates it's been cracked for some time, due I'd say to my over enthusiastic cleaning methods,,,,lesson learn't there.
So this morning I get up and decide the thumb only hurts if I touch it or think about it to much so I'm out to the shed and getting her all back togeather again.
Two hours later and I've got everything as it should be so I set the choke on full and spin her over a until she gives a cough.
Shut the choke hit the button again and she fires up an sits there at a fast idle while I make a couple of small adjustments.
Warm her up,wipe the grubby finger prints off every thing and off up the road for the acid test.
Idle to the end of the road, turn around straighten up and nail it in second gear.
There's no hesitation what so ever as she lights up the rear so I hit third gear an do it again.
She pulls hard an smooth up to 7500rpm an then I run out of road.
So I'm now about to change the dressing on my thumb an then I'm going for a ride.
Have a good day folks,,I certainly am.:2thumbsup
