Wtb tt250 or xt250 engine

hey people,
im after an engine for my tt250, im doing it up for vintage motocross and drained the oil for a quick change so i could ride it for the first time, but half of the engine came out with the oil.......
seems as though a bearing has lunched itself and threw its guts through the bottom end.
does anyone have a spare they want to part with? even if its just the bottom end?
i believe the tt's and xt's share the same engine.
anything considered

Any reason you wouldn't just rebuild it?

im not too sure if anything other than a bearing has gone as there were a few bits of alluminium in there as well.
there is also a piece of case snapped off where the back end of the front sprocket cover bolts up.

If you are unable to find another motor and you are capable of doing it, it would probably pay to strip and evaluate the damage, cranks will be a press together arrangement, broken aluminum can be welded, it would be pretty hard to damage it so badly it couldn't be rebuilt

yeah i had it running and was a gamble when i purchased it.
i adjusted the timing chain and the valve clearances, but it had a strange noise down low, thats when i decided to drop the oil and have a look.
havnt even ridden the thing yet!
i shouldnt have an issue rebuilding it myself as i work in the auto industry.
a couple of my workmates have been racing vmx for years.
ill whip the motor out and have a gander

ok, engine is out and stripped,
found the gudgeon has play and the main bearing has a heap more.
looks like i need to buy a rod kit or 2nd hand crank with rod, another ring kit and gasket kit...
anyone got spares or know of where i can get them for a reasonable price? (im on a budget) :facepalm:

Last rod kit I bought was about $220 for a TKRJ aftermarket then you need someone to put it togther and true it up
Clayton at MClearys would be my first call he's normally fairly helpful

2nd hand is a bit of a gamble I wouldn't bother myself
