I quite like the look of a tidy 'Bagger' and it strikes me as a very useable style of bike semi naked with good travelling capacity. That newish Honda Goldwing version is so much more 'motorcycle' than the Clipper ship of the full plastic version.

The black one below is a expensive but tidy customer Bagger, however in true USA form they take something 'good' and figure if that is good then supersizing it must be better! A case in point is the front wheels - up to 40 inch on some of these things. Look like kids ride-ons.

How would they handle?

My 1980 FLT was what you'd call a naked Bagger.

All fairings and chrome trim removed but the bags still very much in use.

16 inch front and back high ground clearance and the best handling dirt/gravel road, road bike I've ever owned.

Would track dead straight in gravel and two wheel drift at will in the corners.

Pretty ordinary on the tar seal but .

Those things in the pic's,,,Show ponies,,,yuck.
