Financial markets don't like instability, particularly in the home of the worlds most used currency. Of course it will have flow on effects for NZ and obviously the rest of the world but it is more just another symptom of the sorry state of the world's economies. We ain't seen the back of the GEC by a long way... :(

The US Government has shut down.

A lot of people are asking: "How will America get by without an effective Government?"

Same as they did yesterday, I guess.
