Hey guys/gals, I was thinking the other day it would be awesome to have a place to organise rides and get to know other riders for us Uni students (and staff too if you want). I just made this (https://www.facebook.com/groups/1423109314574793/) facebook group, so go ahead and join it. At the time of writing this it literally has two members; I don't know many people who ride, so lets grow this page.

Thanks :)

The University of Canterbury Motorcycle Club lol

We used to meet upstairs in the pub - think it was called Bentlys back then. Did the Brass Monkey and Remarkables rally with them and a few rides to akoroa etc

The Canterbury University have Motosoc, apparently meaning motor sport society rather than motorcycles only. They have a facebook page too.
Their website (http://www.motosoc.co.nz/)looks nice but seems currently rather empty and not much in the 2 wheeled category going on so probably not really what you are looking for.

Yeah I'm actually the motosoc road bike rep for 2014, just got elected, there isn't a whole lot going on in the two wheeled category as of yet but I'm working on it. The last road bike rep had the right intentions and was a good guy but was way too busy as a post-grad student to implement his ideas.

The advantage of a motorcycle group over the motosoc page is that group members can make their own posts and choose to receive notifications for posts in the group. It should make ride organisation and event promotion a little easier and a whole lot more bike specific.

Now up to six members in our group! (lol)
