Indicators have stopped working

Went for a ride today and at some point my indicators have stopped working. They were definitely going when i left.
I've checked the fuse and its ok. I figure its not a blown bulb because the others would still go. (?)
I'm not sure where to start to find the problem.
Any ideas out there?

I've been having a play and have found that the indicators work until the hazard light switch is pressed. the hazards flash once then theres nothing, no indicators either after switching the hazards off. if i turn the key off it seems to reset everything and they work again.
i must have bumped the hazards at some point on my ride.
so whats going on here?
