I was wondering if anyone has used the clearcote as shown here,

I have gone dog on the engine cases with a wire wheel & like the look of it's roughness & would like to protect the look somehow. Does this stuff sound too good to be true?
The only other things I have read about are polishes & waxes - polishing??? bugger that:laugh:
I also read the earlier thread on coastal environments (where I live)

Have never used the clear coat but I've used the black quite a bit. It's awesome stuff and not as expensive as it seems. A tin seems to go a fair way.

I think it kills spray nozzles though and if you're brushing it make sure you tip what you're using into another container otherwise the rust from your brush makes it go rock hard/cure pretty quick from what I've heard.

Not the clear coat, but I've also used the black for a horse float chasis and a ute deck frame.

It's as good as it's claimed to be.

yeah good stuff, the tank sealer is great too.
I used clear coat on a BMW engine 20 years ago to protect it against the Pommy winters, worked but it goes yellowish over time, but that was then it may be better now.
