The real chopper was one scary cunt I must say. After watching Chopper : Unchopped I would definitely cross the street to get away from the cunt if I saw him coming my way.

mm. Senseless violence. There was a time. Thankfully not so much anymore.
Maybe just lucky enough to have left it behind.
I can hardly mourn his pain, nor death. But that theres now a whole lot of evil waiting for an incarnation.

Dude, that's a comedian (Heath Franklin). The real chopper was a psychopath.

Although if you buy into the hype created from the movie and his books he was really just a relaxed, misunderstood author and painter who happened to kill a few people and liberate appendages of a few others. No harm done eh.

I can honestly say that that I have never heard anything of him (the real chopper that is) but I understand he relied heavily on bad language to get a laugh?

You need to watch the movie. Although it is not that funny.

Pretty much there are two choppers. The comedian on TV, which for some reason everyone thinks is the real guy. And the criminal/murderer Mark Brandon (chopper) Read. There was a feature film made about him which starred that Eric Banner cunt.

There was also a doco called "chopper : unchopped" which heavily documented his life and many of his crimes. In short he killed alot of people and mainly stole shit from other criminals. Complete psycho, I really dont know how he got so popular.

Complete psycho, I really dont know how he got so popular.

Because in his words "posh people love gangsters" and he told good stories in (more or less) his own words. At least he was smart enough to realise that he was a pretty rubbish crim (he always got caught) and he'd be better off living quietly as a writer and "rent-a-quote" ex-criminal than doing something that would inevitably mean going back inside and probably dying there.

i dont know that the man actually did.
He was portrayed as a badass with a sense of humor. The kind of shit that makes prime tv. Same as mr asia, biker gangs, surfie gangs, bonie and clyde, generally famous criminals or stereotypes, etc
as a human, he was a dark motherfucker with no value for life. He didnt gloat about killing people, he just didnt give a fuck. Sociopath, i believe is the term. While the comic is a funny cunt, there was fuckall about the original

Mark Brandon was all of that - a psychopathic killer - and a good storyteller and funny man. I was amused last night when they showed a journo asking him if he had anything say - to leave the world any piece of wisdom he had learnt - Read said "Never plead guilty".

Everyone will have their own opinion of the man ... Like The Reibz I would go a long way to avoid him - even if at times I'm amused by Read.

He died of liver cancer after refusing a transplant because, in his own words, he "Chopper Read will not stand in line and take a liver from a child who really needs it." That. to me, is the actions of a man with at least something to be admired - a strong sense of doing the right thing in this instance.

He reminds me a lot of Woody Guthrie's song about Pretty Boy Floyd ... (another pyschopathic killer)

"Yes, as through this world I've wandered
I've seen lots of funny men;
Some will rob you with a six-gun,
And some with a fountain pen.

And as through your life you travel,
Yes, as through your life you roam,
You won't never see an outlaw
Drive a family from their home."

a man with at least somethign to be admired

You have to give grudging admiration to his "no regrets, no excuses" attitude. I did particularly like his explanation for targetting other criminals; he could have played the Robin Hood card, but no: "if I rob you, I get $200 and a second hand Commodore and you go to the cops, if I rob a drug dealer, I get $6000 and he stays quiet. You do the maths."

He wasn't all bad ay

When he was still young, Read was already an accomplished street fighter and the leader of the Surrey Road gang. He began his criminal career by robbing drug dealers, based in massage parlours in the Prahran area. He later graduated to kidnapping and torturing members of the criminal underworld, often using a blowtorch or bolt cutters to remove the toes of his victims as an incentive for them to produce enough money so that Read would leave them alive. - Wiki

Both Aussies, and considering that country's heritage it's no surprise they produce and revere bad cunts so often :shifty: Alan Bond, Schapelle Corby, Moran family, .......
