Go Hafiq!!!

23rd place after FP 1, only 2.2s down on first and only 0.4s behind Fahmi Khairuddin.

Good stuff. An exciting few weekends for NZ and NZ linked riders coming up.

Had a good cheer for him when we saw him on the telly.
Stink that he binned it but totally worth pushing as hard as possible and risking it in such a situation.

He has been racing in Spain in CEV Moto3, doing OK, for Touchline Ajo KTM. They hope that he will race MotoGP Moto3 next year.
He certainly appears to be the next cab off the ranks so to speak for Malaysia, a lot of work has gone in to him over the years.
But he still crashes an awful lot. But as they say, you can teach a fast rider to stop crashing.

No plans to be coming back here.

By the way, Rookies Cup selection is on today at Monteblanco. Just up the road. You guys should have been there.....

No NZers this year.

Well, fingers crossed that this is a sign of things to come and his progress.
My feeling is that he will run well at the beginning of the weekend or race, but fade towards the end.
It takes ALOT of experience to run at the pointy end for a whole weekend and weekend after weekend.
But, he has the talent, the bike and the team.

Fingers crossed.
