Wanna come on the North Cape ride in November?...still a few beds left and it's a FB free zone, there's a part on 90 mile beach which would suit your bike. The link for the ride is in my signature I think?
I was a bit like you when I first joined here... all of the ''group rides'' the we attend fragmented as soon as someone said go! which is why I started posting rides and have done in excess of 50 now. Finally sorted out and settled a group ride formula that seems to work well for all those who attend.

cheers guys it's great to get some invites. i'm actually in the process of moving to Auckland on the 15th and 16th Nov but i will be keen as mustard as soon as i am sorted.
