No can do at work. If I was at home I would of uploaded a photo with the original post.

Someone here must be able to snap a quick picture.

I would have liked to see her do a quick lap and then speak up on the virtues and joys of motorcycling, that would have clinched a few votes.

Shame the pic doesn't seem to be on the Stuff website.

So what was the story about anyway? does some one have a link?

You bugger Matt - started enthusiastically scanning a few Fairfax websites hoping to get a peep, and then you ruin my lunch with the real picture. The fact she's on a Suzuki speaks volumes about Labour voters. Suppose she could have been on an MV, at least the colour is appropriate. :motu:

Lovely pic Matt, excellent work. The story woulda been much better if they'd sent her out for a few high speed laps... "Just remember when you come the hairpin Helen, the brake is the lever on the left"

Good on her for getting involved anyway. Perhaps she always had a liking for Merkel especially in the old days when he had the real surfie looking mop of blonde hair.

OK so all of us with red bikes have got to vote Labour right? Oh hang on there are two blue bikes in our garage too - now what?

Basically Helen had been doing the usual election tour thingy visiting Taupo and I guess seeing she doesn't kiss babies it just commented on how she visited the Taupo track which is currently being extended (it didn't really say why - does it have Govt funding? Was she just thinking it promotes tourism to Taupo? I don't know really the article was a bit non-specific) and just happened to run into Fred Merkel and he let her sit on his old Suzuki superbike. Basically just a PR trip flying the flag etc, but good on her showing an interest in Fred and his bike.

The final paragraph of the article (after burbling on about visiting Tokoroa) says:

"The day ended in Taupo, where Miss Clark again upstaged Dr Brash. After announcing plans to encourage Kiwis to see New Zealand before venturing overseas she visited the town's international motor racing circuit currently being extended.

Miss Clark chatted with former world superbike champion Fred Merkel, and was asked to pose for a shot on his flash blue Suzuki 750 racer.

She would have been forgiven for declining after the undignified images of Dr Brash squeezing into a stock car in Auckland last month."

So a lot of journo mumblespeak really.

Hi Jim - just look at the effect that owning a Yammy has had on you. You don't want to grow up like that Angell character do you? Go and have a cold shower. :nono:

. . . and I guess seeing she doesn't kiss babies . . .

Just as well really, imagine what an effect that would have on the poor kid! Scarred for life . . .

BTW - What do you reckon to the photo of Helen on the Labour bill boards these days? There's one out east that is nearly falling over from all the weight of the extra paint they used airbrushing her face . . .

Plus I think their graphic designer just did a cut and paste from a colgate ad when he was sat there trying to figure out what the hell to do about her teeth . . . the whole thing just doesnt even look like her. False advertising at its finest.

Still, do you remember Jenny Shipley? She was no looker either. I remember my mates comment when he found out she had a husband - "its a brave man that goes down on the Ship . . . "

The bike will be OK. When a c*nt gets to her size its useless anyway. What an insult to a perfectly good Suzuki. They should pass a law against that sort of thing. Gulp hush my mouth, they probably will, don't they allways? :slap:
