Ah, Aussie - the beige country.

(According to two Aussies touring NZ after seeing what freedoms we have compared to them)

We have something in common with our Aussie neighbours.

We don't have a constitution either.

Wow, I don't know much about politics but I do have common sense, and that's just wrong in my opinion.
At least in the way they explain it in that little clip, hopefully in reality it wont be that black and white.

This is just dirty play from 1 criminal gang to another

It's not Australia - it's Queensland. You have to live here to appreciate just how daft a State can be. Fortunately the climate makes up for it.

And yes Australia does have a constitution. Which is where this will end up. Making Barristers richer when it's inevitably challenged - and thrown out as the unconstitutional tosh it is - in the high court.

The real concern is the enthusiastic Qld police using these new powers on ordinary motorcyclists.

Queensland will be joined by the other states soon though.

I just got back from OZ and it's a hot topic all over. Apart from this issue, from what I make out, the law enforcement agencies are gearing up to fight off the USA based Mongols who have been patching over the Aussie Finks.

Criminals are criminals & I shed them no tears. But yes the real problem is the fact that real motorcyclists may get caught up in the fallout by myopic enforcers or public perception

Yep, but ya gotta chuckle a bit 'cos they had to put amendments through allowing lawyers to represent the "bikies" without being seen as their associates.

So a few more legal battles, then the dust settles and maybe it'll be all good. Maybe...

:crazy:sorry to say it...but all I read from that story is...Premier Campbell Newman = Deadman walking!

All the police in Aussie!, his position of power etc etc...simply won't stop those gangs getting to him:(

That man, just picked a fight with the wrong fucking people!

Introducing a licensing regime for tattoo parlours and artists, banning bikie gang members.

Yeah but at the guts of this is the likelyhood that they have a genuine 'issue' with some characters in these clubs. What 'do' you do about blatently criminal behaviour of an organisation?

Its going to be a really bumpy legal ride.... and there will be conflict...

Enforce the existing laws. Not engage in a political knee-jerk media grab.

I agree with you Dave... Whats going to be interesting is seeing if the legal system has the stomach to follow the lead of the pollies..

If they drive these gangs underground you will have the unseen enemy to deal with and all bikers will be tarred with the same brush if the public cant destinguish the difference,I always liked them in their patches, making ID easier for the public and the police alike.
Technology is where they should be concentrating their resources and enforcing the current laws.

..... many of the other 24 gangs named as criminal organisations under new Queensland laws have only had a handful, or even no, members charged in the 17 months to May this year.

More bullshit "tough on whipped up crime" posturing. They'd be better off tightening up and applying the laws they already have, instead of bringing out a bunch of new draconian crap that will then be slowly scoped across to include more of the general public at a later stage, when nobody is watching.....just like all the other knee jerk "targeted" laws that are introduced.....
