Excellent tool for the Harvey Norman TV ads when they come on ( and all ads following that until the main feature comes back on ) .. don't appreciate being shouted at like we're deaf as well as stupid. MUTE!
Hence we don't shop there any more. Well done the HM marketing team .
Commercial radio is just as bad, decent ( quality ) ads and we may start listening to them again and, if you're lucky, actually go and buy some of your product. where's the mute button , the ads are on !

Most ads are just plain lies, and lying seems to be an accepted thing in society these days. Stupid humans.:weird:

You need TV on demand with Adblock+. Fuck the advertising.

Don't worry, just spent $2k+ at HN to balance out your lack of expenditure (well, of my bosses money).
Went to them with a competitors pricing, and they bettered it, so they got the sale. Don't give a fuck about what ad from who, their price and product was the best option.

I'm not deaf and neither am I stupid, hence the reason I will never visit a Harvey Norman store again.
Thank god for the bloody mute button.
Commercial radio ? Herbal Ignite same thing, instant mute and all following advertisers miss out too until the program resumes, if I come back on a bit late, who care's and that's life.
What are your least liked ad's ?

There is no apostrophe in ads.

I have almost no tolerance for adverts these days. Ad-block on my computer, stream television rather than watching it through a network, stream music rather than listen to it on the radio. When I do watch television on ye olde freeview, all of the adverts grate on my nerves. Liberate yourself from the communal dumbing down of advertisements!

True, but I guess ads isn't really a word either.
Look it up. Semantics ...

Whether it's a "word" or not matters not a jot. It still doesn't get an apostrophe.

My pet hates, Informercials. I cant / cannot ( Hitch ?? ) stand the bloody things. How can they think we are so fuckin dumb as to be talked to the way they do. For the industry to run a channel with nothing but informercials and suggest it's anything but the garbage it is, is outright insulting. Sadly, the ads that piss us off the most are the most effective ( supposedly ).
As I said in another post, the best thing on our tv is the off switch.

Of course it matters - if "ads" is not a word then the rules of apostrophes do not apply ... and then it can either have one, or not, depending on what mood it's in ..

Wondering whether Countdown are are re-visiting their advertising strategy on TV and radio ?
Only listen to them for as long as it takes to press the mute button, of course.

Didn't hit the mute button on the TV by mistake during the ad break, and the fucking HARVEY NORMAN AD CAME ON !
We all rushed for the remote but, it was too late ...
Our night has been spoilt , who is that guy, is he retarded or just paid to be deaf as well as stupid ?
I want to shoot him.
Don't appreciate being shouted at in my own home, we'll never shop there, needless to say.

Who watches ads these days? With TV on demand, and basic Freeview boxes having a pause/rewind function.
There's always Adblock+ for the computer.

Yep. 'MySky' FTW! Record the stuff we want to watch and then FFWD thru the adverts at about 7 seconds per ad break. Great that an hour of TV only takes us 42 minutes to watch. In the spaces where nothing is on and theres nothing recorded we are watching Sons of Anarchy. Just got to series 3, episode 7 tonight.

Don't watch TV...
35% of a TV hour is filled with ads - garbage that tries to part you with your hard-earned money for rapid and ever-changing material goods, distort views and expectations of the opposite sex, and encourage the consumption of mass-produced nutritionally-deficient food.
If I want to watch a good TV show, I get the DVD set. Time is already a premium, why waste it like that sitting for an hour to only actually watch 42 minutes?

That bloody crap gigasomething rap advert that is on at the moment does my head in. Instant channel change or mute every time that crap comes on which seems to be every 10 minutes. It's like time slows down when that ad comes on - it seems to go on forever.

Don't know it , never will.
Commercial radio is just as bad but easier to press another button when the ads arrive when you're in the car.
Most advertisers are spending all that money to broadcast/shout their intrusive, inane message at me and don't realise that they've pissed me off so much that I won't shop there.
I'll go somewhere else and spend my money. Easy as that

Why do they do it? ... Because it works and they cannot afford to stop it now ... even if they wanted to ... the only bad advertisment ... is no advertisment! :jerry:

Whether it's a "word" or not matters not a jot. It still doesn't get an apostrophe.
It should do. It is an abbreviation of 'advertisements', hence the first syllable, ad, and the last letter ,s, can in fact be separated by the apostrophe, denoting the missing letters. . . .as in eg, don't. for, do not.
The word "ad", in the 1996 oxford dic. is described as an informal word ie slang. This word may by now be formal. If it is then "ads" will be correct.

Yep, that is a new add from Telecom and it's one of the worst and most bloody annoying adds that has darkened our TV screens for a long time and to make matters worse i was out in the car this morning and it was on the radio as well.
Can't believe just how crap most of the TV adds are nowdays when once upon a time there were some great adds, such as the Toyota adds and the Tui beer adds and don't get me started on the volume levels of the audio that runs in most of them. There must be a lot of deaf cunts in the TV industry.
