Cor - 'gis a ride mister?
Still lots of Buell style clues but a bit less of the 'ugly stick' treatment..

Style is what works, dude.
It’s not bad, eh? He's retained the ZTL disc up front I see, in fact most of it looks to be a natural progression from my 1125.
Up to 185hp, which comes from the extra cubes without sacrificing revs, but more importantly it sounds like they’ve kept that formidable torque spread the 1125 had. Bit porkier though, an extra 15kg odd, strange...
At US$18k it’s competitive with yer average Jap litre sprotsbike, although I guess that’s not really the market it’s aimed at. Now, if it’s a machine suitable for a full sized rider, and if there’s to be a NZ agent I’m interested…

Good for what? Is a bike that can be successfully tweaked to fuck to make a good racing bike what defines a good sprotsbike?

...kinda thinking more along the lines of marketing...the yanks have always wanted their own sportbike and Eric kind of gave them what they wanted, in a hobbled sort of way...if it does well then 'good' is what joe sprotbike rider will deduce...?...

Well you do need to make what the market wants, that's true. But manufacturers learned long ago that it's more profitable to shape the market to suit what they make than vice versa, and the US motorcycle market is possibly the most distorted by such "marketing" in the world, eh?
Most racing class reg's have elements specifically designed to keep racing machines looking like what manufacturer's actually sell, which kinda makes a nonsense of the theory that the best design is what's currently doing well on the track.
And that's without even considering the fact that a good racebike is, by definition not going to be the best road bike, the environment, rules, in fact pretty much every design constraint is completely different.
All of which means your chances of getting the best road-going performance value for your money by checking out the latest race bikes is pretty slim.

...you and lots more know that, and I ride a sportster and other archaic jappy shit, so I'm irrelevant...but how many plebs worldwide buy the honda, suzuki, ducati models, with all the race decals and paraphenalia, 'cos thats whats winning the races...quite a portion of the market I would think...and thanks Ed for slowing down my old computer to load up a fucking ad...I shoulda known really...
