Took my TDR for a ride today, super weather here in Banks Peninsula

Yamaha took a brave step back in '88 when they made this bike(although mine is a '90)but shit it is the most fun bike I ever owned, period

The first motard?not sure but still one of the best, and if you dont believe me,check this out..the TDR was the fastest bike around the test track used by the magazine, and held the record for years, over many other sprots bikes.

You really fuck me off. Not often do I get so hot under the collar on the interwebs. Why? Because you got a TDR & I ain't.

I've wanted one since I was a strippling, thought my 750 kwaka was the dogs until some prick on a TDR started wasting me in the corners going to work every morning. Then I watched the Guidon D' Or. 50 of the little buggers on a proper half & half motard track in France. Funnily enough... Still the mentalist bike race I have ever seen.

If I do not inherit your bike in your will when you die, I shall have to kill you.

Yeah, na, yeah. Unbeatable for smiles per mile IMHO.

Oh, crankshaft washer plates are only $3 each. Don't ask me how I know this..

Enjoy, they don't make em like that anymore.

That is more awesome than anything that has ever been labelled awesome. I remember reading about those when they came out, generally regarded as not very good off-road, but a serious, grin-inducing hooligan bike on-road.

One review mentioned something along the lines of "this is the first bike in the world specifically designed to make you lose your license".

Their is no doubt that MX conversions inspired the TDR but in typical Yamaha style, at the time, they made a bike which just did the job, all day every day. The last of the Yamaha 2t's all channeled that hairy chested 70's mayhem in a user friendly, reliable & fookin hilarious package. T'is sad to think of what we are missing out on now.
If I win gazillions on Lotto guess what I'm going to have made for me... no valves & state of the art.

Keep an eye on the Japanese auction sites as they do pop up occasionally.

Nice one mate! I've only had a very quick (geddit) ride on one and loved it. Very cool wee bikes.

Cagiva did a SM at the time did they not? Can't recall exacary what it was. I do recall they had a tendency to seize.
