After missing some events I am looking forward to racing at Taupo. Its Round 6 of the winter series. Saturday November 2nd.

Come along and race all in with the development class. You know you love track 2.

Prepping the bike I thought I would change the oil. I found 9 very small needle rollers. After some side cover removal I discovered my clutch thrust bearing had self machined its self into a new more efficient style bearing that no longer needed the rollers. Opps. All fixed and ready to go.

I'm keen (but you already new that).

now just have to shake the piggy bank and see if there is enough left over from last weekend at BOB....:msn-wink:

I can scene that wifey might not be too happy (give it wasn't on the agreed race calendar)....
and all saved Brown points have been used to purchase new toy.... Yip another bike added to the fold (TZ250 4dp!!)...:Punk:

I've entered so get off your asses and lets make this a massive event (with the biggest field). It was sooo cool being in a big pack at BOB; just like the GP's old; this could be the same..

4dp is like a 94? Awesome! I have a mate with a 97 in his lounge where its been for 7 years. its beautiful. I've spannered it at a couple of meetings & great to work on.

No chance of maknig this meet. Bike won't be together & hard for me to get Sats away. Sun I will however be riding the dirtbike for first time in 3 months. Yay Spring/summer!

hmm, I was close to it but I've decided to get the bike a bit more 'stable' before subjecting it to a big track meltdown.

The Moto 3 was crazy, eh! The small bikes are best! :Punk:

Great day had by all...

So without destroying the story for others to tell.
No streetstocks or 250 productions saw the podium today; buckets only.....

Three races of paint swapping between these two; and Rich as well (when he wasn't out the front on his own).

And a massive thanks to Vic club for a great day and having us out to play.

Wayne at Motorsport Photography (http://www.motorsportphotography.co.nz/bridgestone-winter-series-taupo.html) has some great photos.

Will be interesting to see the difference in laptimes compared to the last GP held at taupo (As Rich was flying)... RESULTS VMCC RD6 (http://www.mylaps.com/en/events/971912)

---> Hopefully someone has some footage of:
Rich's little excursion in race 3. (So busy watching it I nearly forgot to corner myself....)
& hopefully race 2, turn one, lap 3, three went in three came out in totally different order.......

Had a great days racing , had some promblems at the start with the engine tieing up due to the flote's in the bowl sticking and running lean and out of fuel , so stuff out qualifying but still number 3 on the grid , it did the same thing in the first race , second race i got second , rich winning but was happy on the third lap to get rich back under the breaks at the end on the straght he he but was short lived when rich put his head down and pulled a happy gap, bugger but was good to get some corners better watching him . the last race i wanted to win and even better been cut smaller , i thought if i can lead in the first lap a was hoping i could hold richy out but lucky for me he ran of the track and handed a battle for me and keron to srape it out, shit a close one, like the last , so one dnf one second and a first , keron a second a third and another second, rich first ,first and ?.. fun day thanks to my buddys getting me there, just need to work on berty

Great Fun.

What a great day made even better with the presence of team GPR. So cool to see the buckets on the podium in all 3 races. I was happy to get pole. Even more happy with the first win in race one and a good lap time of 1:24.3. The quickest I have been around Taupo 2 so far. Race 2 was great. I tried starting in 3rd or 2nd gear for some unknown reason and ended up 4th in turn one. Opps! After a quick recovery I was siting with Scott And Kieren. We had some really fun close racing and after my tyres got more sticky I managed to pull a gap for the win. Big smiles and lots of laughs in the pits. Race 3 was sorted due to a crash in the race before. I new I had to leg it for this one so hit turn one first just under scott. OK I thought I have this now. Just keep it pinned and I should have a gap. Well I kept it pinned alright. So much so that I ran it on very fast across the gravel in turn 4. Bit of a panic as the tyre wall came up fast but managed to hit the grass turn the bike and get back across the gravel for last place. 2 short fast laps later I squeezed back into 4th. Scott grabbed the win by a whisker from Kieren. Even more laughs and bigger smiles.

My 250 debut was very short. Maybe 7 seconds of track time. Cold new tyres. Need I say more. I will be back better prepared with the 250.

Great meeting run really really well by Vic club as is the norm. Big thanks to all that helped to make it happen.

Scary progress.

The 2008 GP was held on this track, best lap in the race was 1m29.84 by Rick.

Although F5 Dave posted a 1m23.08 earlier on the KV100.

One must also allow for the less than perfect accuracy of the lap timing used in the 2008 GP.

Just musing.

Still my time is 2 seconds slower the Nathaniel's 2012 time. Nick Cain and Andrew A were also down in the 23's in 2012. But yes the buckets are getting quicker all the time. Good to see.

And yes no red flag caused by me this time.

Yeah, I never did a 1.23 on that thing;). Engine was willing, chassis wasn't. threw me up the road in 1st corner.

So what was the surface like now?

Well I would have loved to have been there but it wasn't a starter. Did get to ride my Dirtbike sunday which was a fantastic conciliation prize.

So what was the surface like now?

Surface is great. I had a few front end slides coming onto the start finish straight but after adding some more front sag it went away. It took a while to go fast. Forgot how wide it is in some places. Still managed to miss lots of Apex's and flounder around in the middle of the track lots.

Time to sort the mid range jetting on my bike. Them GPR bikes are a little to fast for my liking.:msn-wink:

Well that turned out to be a bit of a poser shot!!.
Well let's hope that we dont get UN-friended... I was thinking while riding around mid field; that buckets being out with the development class actually offered up a lot to the young riders (primarily braking and corner speed)...

Here is race three. Sorry fast forward to 7:15.
The holding time was a little hard on the poor bikes (as the cause in race one, I'm very sorry to the other competitors).
