Hey all, so been riding my 650 lams, Kawasaki for 5 months now, damn I love this bike !! I've used it everyday and clocked 5k km ... Anyway heres the question:
If I unrestricted the bike, how do you sell it later on? Will I be able to trade it in? And if I sell it privately I'll have to tell the new owner. And it won't be lams.. But it'll be registered as one..

Should I do it? Mmm

depending on how its restricted, good chance it can be derestricted without it being obvious from the outside.

If you sell it later on, dont advertise the derestriction, but DO tell potential buyers when they contact you / come to look at it so they can make their own decision

Ye seen that video, Mine is a 2013 model and you have to remove the tank :/

I have this description on hows it's done

"ok!

so, remove seats. under the passenger seat you will find a collection of plugs and wires inside a black rubber waterproofing sheath. look for a square four pin connector that has a yellow/black wire looped over into this connector.

remove it.

next, remove the fuel tank, top of the air box, LHS faring and the air filter.. to get the bottom of the air box off, you have to get a very long driver attachment for a small hex head bit, and loosen the hex nut holding the two clamps onto the air intakes. before you rip off the botom of the airbox, reach under and disconnect the two rubber hoses.

you will need a special torn security bit, but i found that on this model, it is a different size to those spoken about on previous year models.. 25 (maybe) it was a long time ago. i will check when i get home..

you will also need to use that torx bit on a verty thin ratchet type driver as the clearance between the screw restricting the throttle and the main fram is very limited.. typical isnt it..

get a little butane jet torch/lighter/ect and heat up the bolt on both sides to break down the locktite thread locker, and then it should unscrew real easy..

this is also a great time to do the pair valve mod.

sorry i did this so long ago, i dont have pics but next time the bike is apart ill post em.. only takes about half hour.

If I was local Id come round and do it for half a dozen bourbons. which youd have to have some of too, cant be drinking alone, sign of a drinking problem!
