I know this isn't bike related, though all motorcyclists are effect by the arses in charge of ACC, and their record profit of billions, and the fact that healthy balance sheet is more important than a healthy Kiwi.

The following makes me sick to my stomach - both the rape and the subsequent treatment by our govt. Can you please sign the petition so she can get the treatment she needs.

Edit. Link should now work. had some technical difficultys (ie I'm a dummy:laugh)

It may be helpful if you also send a copy of the e-mail provided to our minister of ACC.

I'm happy to donate money for her personally, to make her life as easy as possible - but I don't think this money should go to her treatment - letting ACC. abdicate responsibility in paying for what they liable for. Rape victims are entitled to acc., as are victems of medical misadventure.

My first instinct was "lets start a fund to pay for her treatment" - but this is letting acc off the hook. Nothing will pay for what she has endured; but this donated money could make her as comfortable as possible, on top of what acc SHOULD give her.

Anyone else feel the same way?

Yeah ACC should stump up for the costs ... but as it says in the NZH link http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=11148025 ACC WONT
There is no one in New Zealand trained to remove the mesh, and ACC has denied her request to fund the operation overseas. "They just dropped me. My case manager told me if they said yes, it will cost the country thousands of dollars because it will open the door to other people. I burst into tears."

I see that as a bullshit cop out excuse on ACC's part, if we dont have anyone here trained to do the op ACC should cover the cost's to get the op done overseas

Petition signed. I hope it does some good. Although i agree with the concept of ACC and why it was set up it has allowed for an empire of overpaid fat bastards who live in fancy offices with an abundance of company cars, cell phones etc. etc. and who's sole purpose appears to be finding ways to avoid paying for their responsibilities.
I know what their response would be if we started finding excuses as to why we should'nt have to pay our levies.

signed.
ACC must be held accountable - this is the thin end of the wedge. How long before some other activities (motorcycling, f'rinstance) is no longer covered because "it might open the floodgates" . Who's next, indeed.
