Yeah I know it has been, but within 2 or 3 days of the poor bloke being killed there has been the rock thrown from the bus in Mt Roskill now this. Worse thats happened to me is being spat on from someone on an overbridge when on the bike (managed to swerve and miss), but you would think that this sort of shit would stop. Oops silly me have my logical hat on again, forget what I said.

a well placed shot to the knee cap could rectify the whole concept of this crap. People just will tend to continue to commit crimes when the justice system hands out lame sentances.

Little shits, the cops need to monitor the bridges...or sum vigilantes...and when the pricks go to throw things off, either arrest them, or give them a chronic beating to.

The same thing happened in Mt Roskill 2 nights ago. A rock through a side window knocked a passenger unconscious.
The cops can't/won't patrol the prime danger spots, time for citizen patrols?

What the hell is wrong with these people??? A man is DEAD for fucks sake! The kid that did it has been charged with MURDER, yet despite this these little morons appear to be thinking "Oarsum! i is gonna try dat! Betr dan muh stAtion!"
I just don't get it. Have they no concept of cause and effect? Don't they understand that the guy that died can't just hit "Play Again" and carry on?
They better hope that no vigilante types catch them doing it, or it won't be rocks that are getting thrown off the bridge...

Agree with all written above... public floggings sound like a mighty-fine idea to me.
With regards the Police, something we as citizens need to realise is that the Police are NOT there to prevent harm being done to people. Unlike America our Police don't operate under the "protect and serve" guideline. They are there to clean up the mess and catch the perpetrators AFTER the event.
Don't get me wrong, this is not some anti-Police stance on my part... it's just how things are.
To that end, two things need to be addressed in this country:
Greater citizens arrest powers for ordinary people
Re-writing of the laws relating to self defence.
IMO... of course :)

Yeah it's not a copy cat type thing... When Sam and I attended that Ride RIGHT Ride SAFE course over a month ago, on the way back on Upper Harbor Drive (18) just before the Upper Harbor Bridge (where they are building the second bridge) there were 2 people up on the hill bit throwing what looked like fruit at the cars and us driving past... I noticed two cars ahead of me braking for no apparant reason, and I thought "bloody cagers". But when I got to about the same point something went flying past me and Sam said she had the same thing...
thank god they couldn't aim very well...

A good reason to do a late lane change if you see suspicious types on a bridge ahead.
Or, if you're capable, exit and see what the arseholes are up to.

they were up on a slight hill bit... had I stopped... with all my gear on, by the time I got up the hill they would have cleared out... little arseholes

With the killing last week, these retards will know full well the consequence of their actions, so I hope if they are caught, they are all charged with attempted murder - assuming they are caught before they do actually kill someone.
What are these people thinking when they do this? I don't condone burglary but at least you can see the reasoning behind it - steal things, sell them, have money - but throwing stuff at cars? At the very least it causes shitloads of damage, at the worst it can kill someone.
Who cares if they are kids, it's about time they and their parents are held accountable for their actions. Bring back the old style cops who would give the kid a whack and a talking to and that would be the end of it. These little shits have no respect for anyone and it's about time they were treated with a lack of respect too, instead of coming up with excuses for their behaviour.

For a murder or atemped murder by any person they need to be locked up know matter there age. I would start the time it at 10 years lock up at 10 to 12 years old and under that age lock up the parent. Any person that has moved to this place that is cought doing crime.Them and the family need sending home out of this country back to were they came from.
This may sound hard but i have had a guts full of this shit. more.

yes there fucking arseholes and they should be made to retrieve any objects thrown off a bridge the same way they threw it.
But i don't see how terrorists have a cause........ can you tell me what the cause is please??

Well, Islamic terrorists in Iraq want to free themselves from an invading army and spread Islam to the infidel.
The Chechens want an Islamic state.
Kurds want a free Kurdish state.
Basques want self-determination.
There's lots more but this'll do for a start.

Has anyone noticed the name of the victim on the bus? Doesn't look odd in print - Jenna Taylor - but the way Wendy Petrie pronounced it on the news last night made it sound a little rude!
