Hello i'm new here but i'm just wondering if this is the right place to ask for lessons! I've had a growing interest and now that the weathers a lot warmer i want to get my bike license!

I'm willing to pay hourly and hopefully pick up a few tips. I heard some companies charge around $90 an hour which is bit steep for me as a low income student.... Much appreciated, to anyone who can help me out.

The Dunners crew also used to do a maintainence night some Mondays, might be worth hooking up with them

Formal training is a good way to start. The correct information is provided in an easy to understand method and the basics are taught properly. I'd suggest you stick with formal training.

Once you factor in the instructors time, owning and maintaining and registering a learner bike (or fixing it when it's dropped), setting up cones, organising / booking / paying for a place to learn, transport, etc - $90 an hour ain't bad.

If you are asking on here I presume you aren't good friends with anyone that has a bike, and is willing to let you learn on it.

When I got my licence (less than a yr ago) I used and would recommend: Bill Kidney at Masterdrive. He actually rides on a regular basis and has a list of endorsements as long as your arm, and has a great teaching manner / style. 03 477 4004 / (027) 459 9585. http://www.masterdrive.co.nz/locations.html#Dunedin
