I am looking for motorcycle pants and boots.
Does anyone have spare gear?
I'm a student and can not afford high-end gear. :crybaby:

Yes post your size I have some old textile pants you can have if they fit, the fly is broken but otherwise pretty good

this will be an unpopular post, but fuck it.

ideally, you need to buy the best gear you can, however if funds are really an issue heres what I suggest you do.
work out a budget of how much you can afford for gear, then buy boots pants and jacket according to what you can afford for a starter.
you can buy cheap gear which isnt ideal, but better than riding around in a pair of sweatpants like one dumb fat fuck I know does!:brick:

then save up and buy really good gear one piece at a time, eventually youll have an entire spare set.

when I was a student I had some CNELL boots that I bought for about $115. they did me ok for about 3 years when they fell apart. I got a jacket and pants (cordura) for about the same price each to get me started again till I could afford some decent stuff

+1 to Trademe, but I do suggest buying locally so you can try on the gear before bidding, unless it happens to be an exceptionally good deal in which you can easily get your money back by putting it back on TM if it doesn't fit.

Apparently I don't wear pants to work either. Little girl looked up me frock on Friday and exclaimed loudly to all and sundry I had no pants on, she then noticed a bit of a tulle petticoat thing and announced I was wearing a Tutu! Wonderful, everyone at work knows I don't wear undies and have a secret hankering to be a ballet dancer :rofl:

To the OP. Amazingly enough, some of us survived before motorcycle gear was the norm. Jeans with plastic pants over them when wet, long sleeves and a good jacket on top.

About the only things I would not ride without are gloves, decent ones, you can pick them up cheaply on sale. Helmet, non negotiable anyway. If you have a pin head, I have a worn twice black one that I will take $80 for (selling on behalf of a friend). And boots. Preferably leather, but they MUST cover your ankles.

Shit back in the day I used to think I was rather special in my Line 7 one piece wet weather suit :lol:

This time, I actually picked up a pair of military boots to use when riding. They are cheaper and multipurpose. Around 100 NZD and you can use then when hiking, working, riding etc. Mine are Magnum combat boots from USA. Really stiff ankels so they should provide a lot better protection than sneakers.
