Something to compete with the CB500's and Ninja 300 for sure. By far the best looking.

The 390 Duke already spanks both the Honda and the Kawasaki in terms of performance and (for my mind) style. The RC390 will be a proper sports bike as well, while the Ninja and the CB are both an upright commuter with a full fairing. I'd expect the KTM to be a little more expensive than the Kwaka and the Honda though, in saying that we were pleasantly surprised with the Duke pricing.

I can't imagine it would be much more expensive than the Duke. They're probably the same mechanically, just a bit of plastic and a slightly different frame to make it work.

Apparently there's going to be 125's, 200's and 390's. Neat. (http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/668/17354/Motorcycle-Article/2014-KTM-RC125--RC200-and-RC390-First-Look.aspx)

Chances are it'll be like the roll out of the Duke 390 place your order with deposit in March with a October delivery. NZ is such a tiny market some dealers in the states and europe sell more KTM's then all of NZ dealers combined, so were at the bottom of the supply chain for new models.

that headlight looks like sum kinda sonik the headgehog character and whats with the double layer wind screen? otherwise its trick and fills a gap in the lams brackets by being an actual sports bike unlike the cbr and kwak options, think i still rather the duke.... got one sitting there i can take for a blat yet whitetrash?

Well the specs are up on KTM's NZ site 43bhp, 147 kilos, appears the same motor as Duke 390, wheelbase 40mm shorter, steering sharper reduced angle etc
My like and want one , now to convince da other half. Hard decision newer car or new RC390. Just as well I've got all of my road bike gear just need that bike.

I think the best thing my wife and I ever did was get my 60+ year old mother to buy the Duke 200. Now, every time I show her pics of the new KTMs the first thing she says is "I like that. I should get that". :) The really stink thing is, my wife and I have to test ride them since she's so busy. Damn! If she brought another, I'd have to do the break in and the occasional "check things are still cool" ride. Now, if I could only get my hands on a 390 we might start getting somewhere.

I can't really tell, does it have clip-ons as well? It looks like it. Would be interesting to compare the 390 with the rc for body position.
