So it looks like they've cut race lengths on other classes to give the Supersport/Superbike riding faggots an extra race and a total of 40 laps racing while it looks like the rest of us for the same entry fee get to do 24 laps racing
Yep seems fair to me

should just make superbike races 2 laps, we already know whos gonna win.. Craig Syphillis followed by Mark Brandon Reid. why drag it out!
much more interesting racing gonna happen in other classes with new machines, new teams etc etc.. give them more laps

yip but there's two on a sidecar so effectively you get 48 laps for the same dollars so what are you whining about?

except jimmy smith was quicker at taupo last weekend that shirtlifter on an 08 bike with worn out continentals.....
there's a few more in the mix this year it's going to be busy at that end of the feild

ha, nice try but no. In fact I have to share my 24 laps that I pay for with some free loader hanging onto my bike! so I actually "effectively" get 12 laps.. its just getting worse and worse
can I just put lights and a plate on mine and using it on the road instead?

Really want to look into MNZ and "fair"?, calulate how much money they generate with the full race licence cost and the entry fee. Gotta pay for the hotels, flights about the place and the bar tabs somehow............
Supers and 600's have allways come first to them, I don't race in Clubmans, but still get quite pissed about their, arbitrary treatment and perceived lack of value, I imagine the sidecar mob feel the same about the sidecar mob.

Do they run sidecars at the Nationals....

Maybe they should have a different charge.
ie: charge Supersport and Superbike class more?
Also as a spectator I really don't want to go to a National meeting and see clubmans.
Sorry, it's the truth.

maybe thens your time to go and have a look through the pits? There are a number of people who dont fit into the national classes for various reasons, ability or ineligible machines etc but still want to have a shot so if there's room it's still a valid class, other people are focussed on one class or two classes only and they cope, it's a sport after all.
big example is invers where there's a strong following of road racers due to the burt munro challenge but bikes for reasons stated earlier unable to race in points class, down there the biggest feild is usually clubbies

I think the sidecars could be really great from a spectator point of view if they had some numbers in the field. Last time I watched them at the nationals it was such a procession..... With massive gaps between each ummm bike... car?

Not sure of numbers this season for the nats. Someone said there were gonna be 19 of us at the Suzuki series though.

the biggest threat this year is the ferry dilemna, having said that it's not a lot of years ago there were i think 23 machines at timaru for the first round of the nats, they had some troubled times a couple of years ago but back on form now just make sure you're there......

Be good if you can achieve that, normally don't watch because four rigs circulating on different points of the track has little appeal, but a bunch of them, having battles and a bit of push and shove could be fun. Any girl based rigs on the go? my daughter has this nutty idea about having a bash as a swinger ( dirty little schoolboy sniggers about now I bet.......)
I see your buddy Waters out last friday to have a practise on another rig, you scared?:corn:

Not quite true,
The biggest threat is whether there will be enough rigs left in the country to make up the numbers for the North Island rounds

Not sure they will be that short at Manfeild but I won't know that for sure til Monday when I get their final format,Taupo and Timaru both have severe time restraints and with the Postie TTs at Taupo,They don't have time for a support class at all,MCI elected to run 2 support classes plus the extra GP class,Guess we're never gonna please everybody and certainly aren't in a position to start telling the tracks how long we're going to be racing. On that note,It is what it is,If it's not good enough then your entry may be the one that sinks the chairs in the North Island.

I'm keen to see the Superbike championship play out this year. I think more time on track for supersport is a waste of everyone else's time though.
The field gets good numbers, but longer races will do little but spread the bikes more.

No! If you check with Craig he is awaiting new tyres for the season, supply is not instant. So he has been using a mix of less than suitable compounds and worn tyres

Incorrect!
They get no more time on track infact maybe less than the last 7 years! We have had our Saturday arvo Q replaced by a 10 lap race which will be less time on track than the apporx 20 min Q
Every year was 3 rides on Saturday FOR ALL CLASSES nothing has changed except 600s and Supers get one less practice whic has been replaced with a sprint race

Last year there was 2 practice sessions + qualifying which was roughly 45 minutes total (Mylaps) + 1 x 13 and 1 x15 lap races
This year Superbike 1 x 20 minute practice & 1 x 20 minute qualifying + 10 lap race + 2 x 15 lap races
