Hi there,
Been in the country for just over 3 months and man I'm missing my bike.
I've been ridding BMW GS's for the last 12 years and had to sell my last 1 (650GS twin) to pay for the container........worst choice I ever had to make :(
Been stuck in buses from the North shore to city and back everyday and been watching the bikes over the weekends on the roads.........WOW this place has awesome roads.
So glad I found this forum so I can at least read about and talk about bikes while I can't ride one a the moment.
Looking forward to read the stories and pickup info while searching and saving.
Cheers
Andre

@Peturoa - Thanx, for the welcome.............."saffer" I know, no idea what a "sarfie" is
@Erelyes - It is what some of the Kiwis call the people coming here from South Africa - SAFFER

$20 says you'll buy a bike within 2 months.... Temptation is way too high.

Welkom boet ***afrikaans accent** , Welcome !
Ex Saffer here as well (been here around 9 months now)... don't fight it, get a bike. I have been riding up north out of Auckland to explore the country weekends, and damn, trust me you aint seen nothing yet. Auckland is like the rectum of NZ, once you get out of the city and see just how beautiful this place is... you are gonna fall in love.
We took a ride out to Snell's beach / Martins Bay last Sunday and passed some awesome biking hotspots (Puhoi)... you just need to get use to the speed laws, nothing like ol SA where you can drive like a maniac. :bleh:

Thanx for the "welkom", yes that is the plan.......want to take the road to Cape Reinga on weekend. Hit the road on Friday after work and do the coastal road from Silverdale side north along the East coast and then back along the west coast, hoping to sleep/camp the 2 nights (Friday/Saturday) and back on the Sunday.
Pretty sure most bikers in this area have done that? Can't wait :niceone:
